Eschatological Ontology — Analytical Framework This document provides a strict ontological framework for testing claims about being, time, and identity without falling into psychologism. The framework is inspired by the eschatological ontology of John D. Zizioulas. I. Future Status Test Question: What is the ontological status of the future? ■ If the future is endlessly postponed or merely hypothetical → false eschatology. ■ If the future is the final and exclusive reality that will necessarily prevail → eschaton. II. Cause Test (Corrected) Question: From where does being receive its ultimate cause? ■ From origin, nature, or factual givenness → protological ontology. ■ From the end, purpose, and calling → eschatological ontology. III. Redeemed Time Test The present (“now”) is not an empty interval. It is the place where the final reality already acts as cause and gives meaning to time. IV. Identity Test ■ Individual: identity is given in advance by nature. ■ Person: identity is constituted eschatologically through relation. V. Necessity Test (Corrected) Natural necessity implies automatic continuation and death. Eschatological necessity means that the final reality will necessarily come, while participation in it remains free. VI. Prolepsis Test Prolepsis is not psychological consolation. It is real but incomplete participation in what will definitively come. Final Control Formula: If the final reality is necessary, participation is free, and the present is their meeting point, the reasoning is ontological.
